In Taoism, the means to happiness lies within the harmony with nature .
The funny thing is that nature already shows us how to achieve this seemly complicated yet simple notion of happiness in various ways if we pay closer attention.
The blooming and falling of the flowers, the waves and drops of the bodies of water, the sound of the wind, and flight of the birds, the dancing of the autumn leaves. These are not just the universe expressing itself. They are the very expression of the universe.
If we are coming from the nature, we are inseparable from nature itself, can we argue that we are also the very expression of the universe itself? So then, all things are just perfect as they are, because just like the clouds are clouding, trees are treeing, we are people are just peopling. If everything is just being and happening, then why worry, why trying to make up something that’s not even there in the first place? Then happiness naturally emerges like Daffodil blooming in beautiful spring. Not because they are told to be that, but because they just are.
